A weekly newsletter written to parents of the Tracy Learning Center
May 30, 2014 No.37
Virginia Stewart |
I would like to encourage everyone to vote on Measure B, the upcoming school bond for Tracy Schools which would include the renovation and improvement of the Tracy Learning Center Site. This vote takes place on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. I am very proud of all of the families and staff that attend our school and appreciate how much we all value education. We have seen renovations at other school sites and know how this helps improve education for students attending these sites. These past projects also relied on bonds that had been voted on and supported in the past. Measure B will also help to continue in the investment of our community by providing comparable modern schools for ALL students. Measure B’s funding will only be used on the actual school site improvements and is not intending for staff salaries or other common school expenses.
Currently the State of California does not provide school construction funds for these projects; if additional funds from the State become available we will aggressively pursue these funds. Also, state lottery funds cannot be used for these types of school projects. If Measure B is approved, the District will be required to appoint an Independent Oversight Committee to monitor the use of these funds.
Again, please don’t forget to vote on Measure B next Tuesday. Whether you are for or against this bond, each vote does matter.
