Virginia’s Voice |
We are quickly nearing the end of February. It is very important that PHSA students know they must apply for Millennium to be accepted. We are anticipating a waiting list. It is important that those who wish to stay have an application on file by the end of February.
Next week is Mid terms for the high school. A third quarter SWO is also due for Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. We will be on mid term schedule next week. This will result in early dismissal on Friday for high school.
I am very proud of the work our Primary students are doing. We have had a greater emphasis on science this year and the students are responding well. I am very pleased with the curriculum and the outcomes we are experiencing.
DCS students are doing a super good job on their SWOs. They are learning a great deal about the use of technology and are showing great work as collaborative workers.

BEST CRAB FEED EVER!!!! Our 9th Annual Crab Tracy Learning Center Crab Feed raised $10,200. What an amazing evening of great food, drinks, dessert, raffles and dancing.
I am always amazed on how our school shines through this event. Our amazing student servers and volunteers. To see our fine young adults take care of our guests was awesome.
These high school students truly make this an amazing event. Kudos are still flowing for how well the servers took care of their guests. So many people help in this event.
My gosh without our amazing committee, teachers, parents, students, generous companies and individuals, this event could not be possible.
Our thank you boards will be posted shortly. Please take a moment to thank these individuals if you see them and of course support the companies listed.

This week in Initial Phase students have been busy concluding their study of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Ask your student what they know! In addition, students learned about Chinese New Year and many even made lanterns. Furthermore, students have an upcoming Trimester 2 project. Each student is assigned a different community building to construct. Shoe boxes, recycled items, and other fun materials will help make this project a success. Contact your student’s teacher if you have questions regarding this project. Finally, we have a field trip coming up. Students will travel to the Children’s Museum in Stockton. This will be a great opportunity to explore many of the buildings found within every community. Be sure to get your permission slips turned in. Have a great weekend.
What an amazing week Phase 1 had! In Math P1 students learned all about measurement with standard and nonstandard units. Did you know you can measure something with a paperclip or even a marshmallow! Both classes are enjoying the unit on poetry. This week they wrote haiku, acrostic, and diamante poems. What wonderful poets we have. We also learned all about President’s Day and celebrated Black History Month by learning about important and famous African Americans who made valuable contributions to our nation’s history. It was a short week, but still full of learning!
Phase 2 students learned all about electricity and magnetism this week. Students learned about what types of material are magnetic and got to test the magnetism of items in the classroom. P6 even made a human circuit and created electricity, just by holding hands! We are still working on our poetry unit and most groups will continue this into next week. Some groups are learning about famous inventors and we are learning how much technology has changed in the last 100 years! P3 made totem poles with Mrs. Wiltse this week and they look great!
Please remember that green folders must be signed and returned every Monday. Agendas must be signed the day that a student gets on the warning board. Thank you for helping us teach our students how to be responsible and organized!
