We are down to just a few more weeks of school and students are still very busy completing projects, finishing Fast Track, preparing for promotions and moving up a grade next year. Our staff is working hard completing enrollment for next year and are already getting exciting about incoming classes.

I would like to take this time to especially thank the parents, staff and students for another successful year at the Tracy Learning Center.  It has been a good year.  Although we have had some big changes, we have all handled these changes well.

All Medications

Please pick all meds in the office up no later than Thursday, June 22, 2017.

Initial Phase

This week we have had special visitors in our classroom!  We have visited with firemen, a sheriff, a nurse, health and safety, and animal control!  We had fun climbing on the fire truck, looking in the sheriff car, petting kittens and puppies, how to stay safe and healthy, and learning all about what nurses do!  We would like to extend a special thank you to all of our families who volunteered their time to present.  It was also apparent that these families put a lot of time and consideration into what they were presenting.  We are looking forward to our field trip, which will only help us learn even more about what makes a community great!

Phase First

Phase 1 students had a great field trip to the zoo!  They got a chance to visit the animal that they will be doing their report on.  There was so much to see and learn.  Some students even had the chance to touch some of the more exotic animals.  We can’t wait to see the final report all put together.  In Science the students are learning all about what an engineer is.  They are then going to go through the process of an engineering task and design an actual musical instrument.  We are excited to see what they create.  There are many projects happening in Math and Language Arts as students are bringing together what they have learned all trimester.  There are many activities scheduled for this month.  Please make sure you check your student’s newsletter and green folders for upcoming events and dates.  It was a great kick off to summer almost being upon us as the students dressed in their final spirit wear and celebrated “Beach Day!”  Keep your student focused….we still have 3 more weeks of school!

Phase Two

Wow!  Phase showed school spirit and looked ready to hit the beach and catch some waves!  Great job with school spirit!  Students are doing a great job with their Gold Rush Project!  Students are working hard on competing their essay, visual, costume, and creating their Gold Rush Town.  We will visit each other’s town and Phase one will also be touring our towns!!  We can’t wait for Sneak Peak! Sneak Peak will be on Wednesday, June 7th.

June 14th – 6:00 pm Evening of Excellence!  6:30 Phase 2 music performance at the unity area

Senior Walk

Some seniors from the Class of 2017 returned Thursday in their caps and gowns to visit the Discovery and DHSP classrooms to discuss their post high school plans and to bestow advice about navigating high school and college.

Report Cards

Spring semester report cards were mailed out last week.  If you did not receive one for your student, please contact the office to verify your mailing address.  Grades are also available on Aeries.

Fast Track

The regular year has come to an end and Fast Track began Monday, May 22nd and will run until Friday, June 23rd. We will continue to begin each morning with Unity at 8:15am with classes ending at 12:30pm.

Just a friendly reminder that daily on time attendance is crucial during Fast Track.

Four tardies is equal to one full day of absence.  Any combination of tardies and/or absences of more than 2 days will result in an automatic failing grade regardless of the reason. Please be aware of the construction taking place on Corral Hallow Rd. and plan accordingly to ensure your student makes it to school on time. We appreciate your support in promoting the importance of attendance and punctuality with your child.

Fast Track is also a great time for students to complete community service hours or to make up any SWOs. The deadline to turn hours in for the 2016-2017 school year is the last day of Fast Track, Friday, June 23rd.  Any hours volunteered after Fast Track will need to be turned in when the regular school year resumes.

Fall College Early Start

Current juniors who are required to take a class at Delta in the Fall have been informed of our College Early Start Form deadline, which is Thursday, June 15th.  Information about the College Early Start program is available on the Counseling Office website, and all needed paperwork is now available in the Counseling Office.  For those who will be taking their first college class click here for important need to know dates.
