Other important Senior info regarding reimbursements:

Hello everyone,
If you paid via cash or check, your check should have arrived by now or is in the mail on the route. Expect to see that in a few days.
PayPal and Square transactions have been processed and are being refunded. Due to the high volume of these refunds, the system is taking longer than their usual 1-2 day turn around. But be assured they have been processed and you will see your refund in your account.
We have currently run into a new issue. For most transactions, the memo did state whether the payment was for Prom or Disney. If you paid via Square or PayPal and did not see this in the memo, there is a chance your payment was not flagged for refund. Please go ahead and fill out the Goggle Form if you paid via Square or Paypal to be sure your refund is completed. As always we thank you for your patience during these times as we are working on creating a system that was nonexistent. Congratulations class of 2020, both Millennium Seniors and Discovery Eighth Graders.  You have worked hard and deserve congratulations.

While these are not the traditional celebrations we are used to, adults are working harder than ever to make sure these accomplishments will be wonderful. These celebrations are more difficult than traditional ceremonies and staff are going above and beyond for you.

I will tell you that while traditional is expected, students are always trying to make themselves stand out and make the ceremony different.  The celebrations/ceremonies being prepared, while not traditional, will certainly be memorable! Isn’t that what you really want?

CONGRATULATIONS MILLENNIUM AND DISCOVERY FALCONS CLASS OF 2020!

Monday Morning Message

Capture

Good Morning!

The highlight of my last week was reading a book to TK and Kindergarten.  I missed doing that each week.  AND I loved the Primary parade.  Thank you to all of the Primary parents who drove by car line to wave to our incredible teachers who came to wave to you.  We belong together.  We all miss each other.  It was a very special time.

It gave me a glimpse of what our drive-by graduation will be like.  It will work.  I hear students saying they are pleased to hear there will be a stage and pictures.  And yes, I am giving out diplomas! We look forward to celebrating our Class of 2020.

I am also excited that the eighth graders will be picking up their robes for promotion, I cannot wait to see the graduation photos that will be sent in for the yearbook.  Our staff is so proud of your accomplishments.

I am very pleased with how we are all working together for the good of our learning community.  I could not ask for more!

The budget for next year is promising to be a difficult one with severe cutbacks due to these difficult financial times.  We are working closely with the state and county to make the most of our resources so we may keep providing the high level of education we strive for at TLC.

We are not alone and it is now more than ever that our TLC community must work together to support each other.

Words can’t describe how proud we are of the young man Mateo is becoming. He works hard in school and maintains good grades. He is a loyal friend, loves sports, keeps us laughing, and has a sweet soul. It’s been a rough year with breaking his arm twice and having surgery. Soccer season was cut short but he never complained, had a good attitude, and went on to make the basketball team. We know he’s disappointed with missing all the 8th-grade promotion activities with friends but has kept his head up looking forward. We can’t wait to see what the next 4 years of high school and the future holds for you! The possibilities are endless! Dream big buddy!! We love you!!

Mom, Marco, Dad, Nanna and David

You are one of a kind and it has been a pleasure to teach you this year. You are funny, athletic, and very intelligent. I know you will do great things in high school, just try to avoid any more broken bones. Remember to always work hard and stay motivated and you will continue to thrive. Congrats on Promotion!

Mrs. Rapp

I taught Mateo my first year in Discovery and enjoyed having him in the classroom. He is very hardworking and takes on any challenge head-on. I wish him luck on his new journey in high school.

Mrs. Zuniga

Adam Su

To our dearest Adam,

Our journey with you thus far has been a great one, as we get to experience together with the joy of being first – the first to enter preschool and now the first in our immediate family to be promoted to high school. We are extremely proud of you and your accomplishments. Remember that it takes a village to get where you are heading to, so be kind and always be grateful to the people that supported and helped you in your journey. As you continue your great journey, you will make mistakes and poor choices but don’t let these missteps define you, but rather learn from them and use them as inspirations. You have a bright future so continue to be curious, focus on your goals, be true to yourself, and most of all, have fun, and be happy. You are a gift and we love you very much.

Love,, Mommy and Papa

Adam “Mr. Su” has been an excellent student here at Discovery for the last four years. His dedication to working hard, positive attitude, which consists of having fun and always fundraising the most money for the “Discovery Jog-A-Thon” will truly be missed! Aim high in High School Mr. Su as I’m sure you’ll continue to excel!!!!!

Coach Williams 🙂

I taught Adam for his sixth-grade year and watched him grow throughout the year. I have also seen how much he has grown in the 7th and 8th grades. He is intelligent and keeps working hard on his goals set. I wish him the very best in high school and in the future.

Pahul Sian

We are very proud of you. From school to sports, you have excelled tremendously. In Pentathlon you got 1st place in science. In school you are all rounded, respectful, caring, and a good friend. There has not been a day that you have amazed me with your abilities to be independent, responsible, and loving. I have said that you grasp things easily, which makes learning easier for you. May High School be the best years for you!

Love you always, Mum, Dad, and Harleen

When little 7th grader Pahul joined my class, he was the sweetest student a teacher could ask for, and I had the pleasure of watching him grow into a confident, comedic, and academically strong 8th grader. He never misses the opportunity for a joke or to make someone laugh with his hair flips, but is also one of the kindest students I have ever had in my class. I know he will do amazing things no matter what he pursues in life. Congratulations on your graduation, Pahul! I’ll miss having you in my class.

Ms. Dominguez

The past few years have passed so quickly. You’ve crossed the bridge of middle school. Now off to high school you go. I have no doubt about your future academic achievements. You are a very bright and athletic young man. I wish you all the best on your new journey.

Jacqueline Cerda

We are so proud of our daughter Jacqueline, she has always been working hard for so long and now she is moving on to high school.

Ponte las pilas!! Your family loves you

When it comes to being a supportive friend, a talented artist, and inquisitive student: Jacqueline Cerda fits the criteria! Jacky is always willing to help any of her friends out, and she does it with a smile. She’s also a student who will ask for help, working to really learn a subject. Keep being awesome Jacky!

Miss Munah

Jacky is an incredibly sincere and kind-hearted student. She is soft-spoken but always willing to lend a helping hand to her classmates and her teachers. She has been a joy to have in class! Good luck Jacky!

Ryan Alger

Happy 8th-grade promotion! We are so proud of the way you have balanced your academics and extracurricular activities in your years at DCS. You participated in Science Olympiad and Academic Pentathlon. We’ve seen you improve in soccer and baseball and enjoy watching you play the sports you love. Congratulations on being accepted into Space and Engineering Academy at West. Thank you for keeping us laughing with your witty responses and we even sometimes appreciate your sarcasm.

Love, Mom, Dad, and Luke

Over the last two years, I have had the pleasure of having my class distracted by Ryan and his mildly related but mostly off-topic science questions. There are days I feel he has come prepared with a list of potential questions that might just take the entire class period for me to answer. But I have to admit, he has made my class more interesting and more valuable of learning experience through all his questions. Ryan is a brilliant student, and I can’t wait to see where life takes him. Congratulations on finishing 8th grade, Ryan!!

Ms. Dominguez

I have had the pleasure of being Ryan’s Language Arts teacher for the last two years and I have come to know Ryan as a quick-witted and sharp-minded student, with a keen sense of dry humor. Ryan works hard and can always be counted on to provide a modicum of comic relief to the, sometimes, overly serious classroom. His absence from our DCS hallways will be keenly felt.

Your Big Sister Carmen

There are many things one can say, about this young lady who says so little but the first one that comes to mind is: wow, she is such a smart and diligent person! Jasmine works hard in her classes and also in her friendships, bringing a smile to all those around her. She’s a kind, smart person who will continue to go far, as she works to achieve it!

Anisa Sahib

Anisa has been nothing but a joy to have in my science class for the past two years. She brings a level of creativity and outside-the-box thinking that makes me so proud to call her my student. And her constant willingness and desire to help her teachers and fellow students with anything they need is something that I will miss seeing everyday. Congratulations, Anisa! I wish you all the best in high school.

Ms. Dominguez

Anisa! Wishing you the best as you move forward into high school! Thank you for your spunk and creativity! I know there is no limit to what you are capable of. Congratulations!

Matthew Sandhu

We are so very proud of you and the young man that you are becoming. You have shown us your determination and will to win in everything that you do, no matter how big or small. We are so blessed to have you as our son and are excited to see the places you go and the adventures that lie ahead. Keep pushing yourself forward, you’re doing an amazing job now imagine how much more you will accomplish.

Love, Mom, and Dad

Over the last two years, I have watched Matthew grow both as a student and as a person. As an 8th grader Matthew has shown a growing interest in reading and an aptitude for Language Arts that has developed tremendously since he was a 7th grader. Congratulations Matthew and keep reading!

Mrs. Cerezo

When I first met Matthew, he was one of the quietest students in my class. There were days I would wonder if he would ever be able to speak up, but then eighth grade rolled around and I got to see a whole new side of Matthew. A confident and funny side that was always willing to help in the classroom. I am so glad that I got to see that happen, and I know he will only continue to grow from here. Congratulations, Matthew!

Ms. Dominguez

Harshawn Sandhu

Love, Mom, and Dad

Harshawn is a quiet but determined student. He has a great sense of humor and will go on to be so successful in high school! Congrats Harshawn!

Mrs. Cerezo

I have watched you grow into such a wonderful person these last four years! It has given me great joy watching you come out of your shell and explore the challenges around you. There is no doubt in my mind you will do exceptional in high school!
