Final Messages for 2020-21 – Wishing all our TLC families – Have a safe and relaxing Summer break!

Hello, all of our great parents!

We all know the year has been different and procedures have been adjusted throughout the different stages regarding the protocol in classrooms and carlines this past year. With the year coming to a fast end I wanted to thank you all on behalf of the Tracy Learning Center.
I’m George Hepner, the Director of Facilities for the Tracy Learning Center. Some might have noticed me in morning carlines and afternoon carlines on Lowell and some on Mae and student drop-offs during the school year.
I want to take this time to thank every one of you personally. All of your patients, following procedures and being positive in carlines to the staff. I know some days this could be difficult when we have many other things going on and you just want to get your students dropped off or picked up! Thank you!
As we end one year and the new 2021-2022 school year will be fast approaching, I would like to remind everyone to please read the upcoming charter chatter and information coming from each particular school. For information regarding procedures for drop off and pickups of students.

It is most important that we all follow the directions for carlines and times for drop-offs and pickups. If everyone does the same thing and follows the directions, it will go so smoothly for everyone. Please remember that staff, students, and parents are all on the same team at Tracy Learning Center. We are all trying to accommodate 1300 students in the most effective and efficient ways!!! So please help us all for the new year.

Once again, I want to thank you all for the past year and look forward to the upcoming school year! Have a great summer break and recharge for another busy school year at TLC!!

A from our TLC Tech Team –

We want to give a HUGE thanks to all our parents and students for working through a challenging year.  Distance learning only worked because of your efforts.  Thank you.

As we prepare for a ‘normal year’, we want to make sure ALL TLC Chromebooks are returned by 3pm tomorrow (Friday, June 25th).  If you still have a TLC Chromebook at home, please bring it and the charger to the front office before 3pm. We do not need to check you back in or sign you off – we know which student has which laptop and we will check them in electronically.

This is extremely important for our tech team so they can sanitize and update computers for the upcoming school year.

Your cooperation is appreciated.  Have a wonderful, well-deserved break.  See you in August!

ATTENTION 8TH GRADE FAMILIES:

This Saturday, June 26th is our 8th Grade Promotional ceremony for our Discovery Middle School.   If you are unable to attend, we will also be streaming it LIVE via Youtube.  We are so proud of our 8th Graders!  Good luck in High School Falcons!!

Happy Friday! One more week of school!

We will be celebrating the 20+ years that Virginia Stewart and Dyanne Holmes have given to TLC.  We know many parents have been with the school for a long time and we invite you to join us for an open house celebration at The Press Wine Bar from 4pm to 7pm. No RSVP needed!

TLC Announcements….

TLC Announcement:

Last night marked the end of an era when Virginia Stewart gave her last director’s report at the Tracy Learning Center board meeting.  The moment was bitter-sweet, especially for those of us who have had the opportunity to work under her guidance and leadership for so many years.  Board members, TLC staff, and distinguished representatives from the city of Tracy expressed their gratitude for Virginia’s steadfast leadership, innovative thinking, commitment to putting students first, and her ability to adapt and change but never waiver from the vision of TLC.

In recognition for founding the Tracy Learning Center schools and her excellence as its leader for the past 20 years, the Tracy Learning Center Board of Directors approved a resolution to rename the administration building located at 51 E. Beverly Place the Virginia Stewart Administration Building.   She also received special recognition and honor from Mayor Nancy Young and District 5 Supervisor, Robert Rickman, who presented her with certificates on behalf of the city of Tracy.

Mrs. Stewart is a once-in-a-lifetime leader.  Those who have been able to learn from her recognize what an honor we have been given, being able to learn from her example and follow her guidance!  Thank you, Mrs. Stewart, for showing us what a true leader is, thank you for showing us what fearless determination looks like, thank you for always supporting new ideas and ways of thinking, thank you for giving us the freedom to teach students in innovative ways, thank you for sharing your knowledge and insight with us, and thank you, most of all, for gifting us with the most amazing gift of all—Primary Charter School, Discovery Charter School, Millennium High School, and the Tracy Learning Center Preschool!!!! We are all honored to carry on your legacy and we wish you the very best that retirement can bring.  We love you!!!

Sincerely,

Carolyn Woods
