Student COVID Test Kit Information

Dear Tracy Learning Center Family,

To maintain safer learning spaces in schools, the California Department of Health (CDPH) has increased access to no-cost, at-home COVID-19 antigen rapid tests for K-12 students in public and charter schools. The tests will supplement — not replace — existing safety measures already in place.

The testing kits will be sent home with every student in grades TK-12 tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5th.

 

Step 1: Have your child take the test, even if your child has no COVID-19 symptoms

  • Each testing kit contains two tests. You may keep this test and use it when needed. Please read the instructions carefully before testing. Instructional videos on how to use the iHealth test kits are available in English and Spanish. (Use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code at the end of this message to access the video.)

 

Step 2: Notify the school of positive test results

  • If the results are positive, contact the school immediately for further instruction and keep your child isolated from others.
  • If your child is very sick: call your doctor or visit an emergency room.
  • If the results are negative, your child may go to school if they have been symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours without medication.

 

Step 3: Report negative and positive test results

  • Go to https://my.primary.health/l/caschools (QR code can be found at the bottom of this message) and click on the “Student Registration” button to complete the short registration/reporting process. The website, which is secure and HIPAA compliant, will send test results to our local health department.

 

Taking the tests are not required to attend school.  However, testing and reporting the results at Primary Health — positive or negative – will help us prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our schools and support our local public health officials with collecting data to better understand COVID-19 in schools so that we can maintain safe in-person learning.

Para mantener espacios de aprendizaje más seguros en las escuelas, el Departamento de Salud de California (CDPH) ha aumentado el acceso a pruebas rápidas de antígeno COVID-19 en el hogar sin costo para estudiantes K-12 en escuelas públicas y autónomas. Las pruebas complementarán, no reemplazarán, las medidas de seguridad existentes que ya están en vigor.

Los equipos de prueba se enviarán a casa con cada estudiante en los grados TK-12 mañana, miércoles 5 de enero.

 

Paso 1: haga que su hijo se haga la prueba, incluso si no tiene síntomas de COVID-19

  • Cada kit de prueba contiene dos pruebas. Los estudiantes deben tomar la primera prueba lo antes posible después de recibir el kit de prueba y luego nuevamente en 1-3 días. Lea atentamente las instrucciones antes de realizar la prueba. Los videos instructivos sobre cómo usar los kits de prueba de iHealth están disponibles en inglés y español . (Use la cámara de su teléfono inteligente para escanear el código QR al final de este mensaje para acceder al video).

 

Paso 2: Notifique a la escuela sobre los resultados positivos de las pruebas

  • Si su hijo está muy enfermo: llame a su médico o visite una sala de emergencias .
  • Si los resultados son negativos, su hijo puede ir a la escuela si no ha tenido síntomas y no ha tenido fiebre durante 24 horas sin medicación.

 

Paso 3: Informe los resultados de las pruebas negativas y positivas

  • Vaya a https://my.primary.health/l/caschools (el código QR se puede encontrar en la parte inferior de este mensaje) y haga clic en el botón “Registro de estudiantes” para completar el breve proceso de registro / informe. El sitio web, que es seguro y cumple con la HIPAA, enviará los resultados de las pruebas a nuestro departamento de salud local.

 

No es necesario realizar las pruebas para asistir a la escuela. Sin embargo, probar e informar los resultados en Salud Primaria, positivos o negativos, nos ayudará a prevenir la propagación del COVID-19 en nuestras escuelas y apoyará a nuestros funcionarios locales de salud pública con la recopilación de datos para comprender mejor el COVID-19 en las escuelas para que podamos puede mantener un aprendizaje en persona seguro.
