TLC Charter Chatter
News, Information, and Updates for Primary, Discovery, and Millennium Charter Schools
A Message from our CEO, Carolyn Woods
Hard to believe but Monday, March 7th marks the beginning of the third trimester for Primary and Discovery and the start of the forth and final quarter of the year for Millennium! Primary parent conferences will take place in person for the first time in two years. We are also welcoming back our annual Scholastic Book Fair, which will be held the week of March 14-18th in the gym. Plans for end of the year senior activities are well underway and Discovery will be planning promotion activities soon. We are excited to be able to start bringing back our traditions in a safe way!

Reminder: After March 11, 2022, the universal masking requirement for K-12 and Childcare settings will terminate. CDPH moves from requiring masks to strongly recommending masking in indoor settings for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.

**Attention All Parents**
Below you will find a link to our electronic parent website (AERIES). This database contains critical information about each DCS student and each student’s emergency contact information. This portion MUST BE FILLED OUT BY YOU. All data will be used to contact you in the event of an emergency. It is very important that you take the time to ensure we have all necessary information.
Use the following link https://tracylearningcenter.aeries.net/student and login in with the email and password you created when registering your student at the beginning of the school year. From there, navigate to the DATA CONFIRMATION PROCESS link. Once you enter the information, THE LAST STEP IS TO PRINT THE EMERGENCY CARD and turn it into the front office or to your child’s teacher.
If you believe you have already completed this process OR you need help completing this process please call 209-290-0511. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

SPED SPOTLIGHT:
This week we want to put a spotlight on SLD also known as Specific Learning Disability.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in the 2019-2020 school year, 7.3 million students (14 percent of total public school enrollment) ages 3-21 received special education services. 33% of all students who received special education services were identified as having a SLD.

If you have any questions on this topic or would like to know more please feel free to reach out to the Special Education Department.

We also congratulate Falcons who qualified as alternates to the State Championship: Giovanni Vasquez, Patrick Bouckaert, Patricia Abrigo, and Gurnoor Singh. We are so proud of our team!

The MHS Grade Check Google Form, and College Early Start Docusign Form OR Dual Enrollment Docusign Form, will all be due Wednesday, March 16th at 11:59pm. Students need to meet this deadline, and be earning A’s and B’s in their high school classes to qualify.

NEXT STEPS: Summer 2022 Delta College Early Start
Students who have applied to Delta College and received their Delta ID number can proceed to the next steps! See the attached video (https://youtu.be/VcZQKSauzMA) and associated slides (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1aNoGZkEpoLDPYVDH2kW07B4yQZICRu1pWUNUxQ11SF4/edit?usp=sharing) for guidance on how to…
1. Complete the MHS Grade Check Google Form – due for ALL students on 3/16 at 11:59pm. (https://forms.gle/bPvuhjwqxzhXtCJ77) *If you have submitted a Dual Enrollment Form in the past, the MHS Grade Check Google Form is all you have to submit in order to take summer college classes.*
2. Complete the Dual Enrollment Form – ONLY IF you are taking our Summer 2022 Dual Enrollment class, ENG 30 The Film as Literature, as your first class ever AND/OR your first Dual Enrollment class ever. Due 3/16 at 11:59pm along with the MHS Grade Check Google Form. (https://na3.docusign.net/Member/PowerFormSigning.aspx?PowerFormId=eb278dc9-8e42-43ed-81ef-bd8fe475a95e&env=na3&acct=2646a927-3855-4426-8e4f-f7d8ad93aa54&v=2)

PLEASE NOTE: All Delta College classes will be online in Summer 2022. These courses will require a high level of independence, as the courses are accelerated (only 6-8 weeks long) and asynchronous, meaning that there are no required Zoom class meetings with your instructor. Students will have to manage themselves to meet deadlines – completing readings, assignments, projects and tests, and reach out to their instructor and/or Delta College staff for help when needed. Online summer college classes require a lot of responsibility and determination. Here are our recommended classes for this semester: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LlFxGJQMg1_wYAVtc1QsHvLgEdgydGMbeUN3-26-CvM/edit?usp=sharing
If your student missed a step or needs help, please see our website https://millenniumcounseling.weebly.com/college-early-start.html and feel free to email MHS Counselor Ms. Moore at LMoore@tracylc.net.
DON’T MISS OUT!
This is the last month to purchase a yearbook or make a senior dedication for your Millennium student. Books will no longer be sold and ads cannot be accepted after April 2nd, in order to have the books printed and distributed on time. Our book is 200 pages and has every sport, activity, club, and Falcon covered — your student will not want to miss this yearbook! Go to http://yearbookordercenter.com and enter code 21362 to purchase a yearbook or see options for senior dedications. Use code LASTCHANCE to save $5 on the book, and LASTCHANCEAD to save $10 off our senior dedications.
Questions? Email Miss Lamanna, blamanna@tracylc.net.
LUNCH: Ordering lunch is slightly different this year. All students should have a lunch account to pay for lunches. To register, go to https://www.mymealtime.com/ and create an account. You must choose/type in your specific school (Millennium High School) and you will need your student school I.D. number. If you have any difficulties creating an account online, money can still be added to your account by either cash, check, or debit card. You can drop off payment in the lunch dropbox that is located in the main office. We are still in the process of adding new students to our mealtime system and hope to have it completed next week.
Lunch is ordered the day before it is delivered to class. All students should order their lunch during 4th period/HUB time. The Google Classroom code is SEUNSOU. Applications for Free & Reduced meals must be completed and turned in every year. You can apply on the school’s website.
