A Message from our CEO, Carolyn Woods

Parents, students, family, and staff,

I, along with all of you, was so disheartened to hear about the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas this week. To see the faces of those innocent children whose lives were taken in such a horrific way breaks my heart. I grieve for the families of those precious children, for the families of the teachers who were lost, and for the entire community who I know is in deep mourning. It was an unspeakable act of violence.

At times like these, it gives us cause to come together as a school and reexamine our own safety protocols. We have a safety committee that meets regularly and who have already planned to implement new safety procedures on campus, such as requiring all students and staff to wear their ID badge at all times, requiring visitors to wear a clearly visible, unique badge, and to have all volunteers go through a more detailed application process, but even with all of the measures we have in place, we can do more.

Although we have a closed campus, meaning all gates remain closed at all times during school hours, the doors to the front office are unlocked and open- we can and will make them more secure. We are going to install a system that will allow the front office to buzz visitors in, adding a level of security that we have not previously had.

We take campus safety very seriously and do all we can to ensure a safe environment for our students.

Thank you for all of your support this year. Have a happy Memorial Day!

Mrs. Woods

Did you know that Millennium High is offering ON CAMPUS Sports Physicals on Monday, June 6th in the TLC/MHS Gym? There is a permission form and it does cost $20 – Dr. Andy Su and his staff will be administering these sports physicals for us. ALL Millennium Athletes must have a valid sports physical each year to participate in sports – the sports physicals on June 6th will allow athletes to compete in all three seasons of Sport in the 2022-2023 school year!

Incoming Freshman who have registered need to be at the Gym at 1 pm

10th graders arrive at 2 pm

11th graders arrive at 3 pm

The $20 fee is paying Dr. Su for his time and effort, and is similar to the co-pay you would pay your family doctor or Kaiser.

If you any questions, feel free to contact me – your new Athletic Director, Drew Reyes at areyes@tracylc.net

MHS Football Conditioning is happening on a daily basis at 5pm – it’s not too late to join! Contact me at areyes@tracylc.net for more information – also – if you are a current Discovery 8th grader who is coming to Millennium you CANNOT join until after you’re done with 8th grade. BUT as soon as you are done, you can come to conditioning with Coach Woods, Coach Cheadle and Coach Espinosa! We are counting on a large number of incoming freshmen to build our team for the future – and the future is definitely NOW! Get your sports physical done, and register on https://www.athleticclearance.com/

In other sports news, Girls and Boys Basketball are having some summer open gyms – Contact your coaches and check remind for more details – if you email me – areyes@tracylc.net – I can tell you how to connect with Coach Joe Reyes, our girls Varsity Basketball Coach, and Coach KV, our Varsity Girls Associate Head Coach.

Did you know that we will have a brand new Cross Country Coach? Coach Mike Copass has taken the whistle and clipboard from Coach Sheree Parker, who will be busy watching her son Jadyn playing football at UCLA this fall. Coach Copass is ready to lead our extremely successful Cross Country program this fall. Interested in getting in the best shape of your life? Want to make friends and learn from the smartest man in the city of Tracy? Email Coach Copass at mcopass@tracylc.net for more information.

Mark your calendars…coming soon to a Tracy Learning Campus near you…we’ll be celebrating:

FAST TRACK 2022 – Monday, May 23rd to Friday, June 24th

FAST TRACK is a MANDATORY program for all high school students which gives them the opportunity to take ten credits of a course to remediate or accelerate, and/or to take a college course. During FAST TRACK, students take a full year (two semesters) of a course for 4.25 hours a day (including a fifteen-minute break) for five weeks beginning Monday, May 23rd to Friday, June 24th. The day begins at 8:30AM and ends at 12:45PM.

ATTENDANCE: Attendance during FAST TRACK is different from the school year in that students are only allowed to miss 8 hours of time during the entire FAST TRACK. Tardies count as one hour and a day is four hours. Any combination above 8 hours results in a need to withdraw and an F grade for the affected semester. There are no excused absences during FAST TRACK. This is necessary in order to meet the state requirement for issuing credit for a year’s worth of a course. Students may not miss more than two days (8 total hours). Four tardies are the equivalent of one day of school, therefore; two days absent and one tardy will result in a failing grade.

Letters have been mailed home including additional details as well as your child’s FAST TRACK class.

LUNCH: Ordering lunch is slightly different this year. All students should have a lunch account to pay for lunches. To register, go to https://www.mymealtime.com/ and create an account. You must choose/type in your specific school (Millennium High School) and you will need your student school I.D. number. If you have any difficulties creating an account online, money can still be added to your account by either cash, check, or debit card. You can drop off payment in the lunch dropbox that is located in the main office. We are still in the process of adding new students to our mealtime system and hope to have it completed next week.

Lunch is ordered the day before it is delivered to class. All students should order their lunch during 4th period/HUB time. The Google Classroom code is SEUNSOU. Applications for Free & Reduced meals must be completed and turned in every year. You can apply on the school’s website.
