News, Information, and Updates for Primary, Discovery, and Millennium Charter Schools
A Message from our CEO, Carolyn Woods
Welcome back to all of our returning families and big welcome to TLC to our newest additions! I am Carolyn Woods, the CEO of the Tracy Learning Center. My responsibilities are similar to those of a superintendent at district schools. I am responsible for carrying out all of the policies of the governing board. As the CEO, I set the vision for the school culture, serve as the financial officer for all of the schools, ensure that all requirements of the charter are met, provide administrative support for curriculum and instruction, oversee the staff and students from preschool through 12th grade and provide support to all stakeholders including parents and community members . . . among other things! I am dedicated to ensuring that the Tracy Learning Center schools thrive and that the staff, students and parents feel supported.
I have worked at the Tracy Learning Center since 2004, starting as the first kindergarten teacher at Primary. From 2004 to 2018, I taught grades K-4, while also serving as the school leader for Primary for many years. In 2017 I transitioned to a full-time administrative role as the Director of Human Resources and Student Support. Last year, I was humbled and honored to be named the CEO of the Tracy Learning Center, succeeding Virginia Stewart, who had been at the helm for twenty years. I was privileged to work closely with Virginia and learn all that I could from her. TLC is near and dear to my heart, and almost quite literally a second home for my family as my husband, Mr. Woods, teachers at the high school (and has been since 2003!) and my daughters attend Discovery and Millennium. My son graduated from Millennium in 2019, after attending TLC since kindergarten, and is now a senior in college!
I believe in our program and feel we offer an educational experience unlike any other. We are a charter school for a reason, we exist to be different and to try new and innovative ways of teaching. Our students come first! Thank you for choosing to be a part of the TLC family.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Woods

Primary Charter School
Welcome back PCS families! We are excited to start another great school year with our little Falcons!
Thank you for making our first week carline a smooth and efficient system. Remember, there are 3 pick up options this year: drive through the carline, parent walk up, and walkers (must have permission for this option). We would appreciate it if parents do not park along the carline route on Mae, as it slows down the cars that are driving through. Also, as a courtesy, please do not park in carline and leave your car unattended in the moving line as you walk up to get your child. Thank you for partnering with us to get your child to you quickly and safely!
If you have a PCS student and a DCS student, you may drop them both off in the DCS front carline and your Primary student will wait with them until 7:45. No need to wait in both carlines!
Don’t forget to order your Spirit Wear! The online store will close on August 12. Go to: http://www.selectspiritwear.com/ Please put your child’s room number on your order to ensure prompt delivery.
PCS Picture day will be August 24 for grades K-4. TK picture day will be August 25. Please be on the lookout for more information to come home soon.

IMPORTANT
As required by California law (Health and Safety Code 120325 – 120375), parents need to provide proof of a Tdap vaccine (pertussis – Whooping Cough Booster) for all students entering the 7th grade. Documentation must state the shot was given on or after their 7th birthday. This means ALL current 7th graders must get up to date NOW.
It is important that you begin now, to ensure your child gets his/her required vaccination prior to school re-opening on August 1, 2022. We suggest you call and arrange this vaccine appointment asap.
Getting them up to date now, will not only protect them against Pertussis but also ensure class placement and prevent exclusion from school once students return to campus.
Remember to ask your physician about other vaccines your child may need, and bring your child’s yellow immunization card to the visit. Please return a copy of ALL up-to-date immunizations to school prior to the beginning of the next year school year.
For questions, please call your primary physician today or call the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Program, at (209) 468-3481.
Students will not be allowed to attend campus classes without his/her completion of all school-required vaccines/immunizations.
