A Message from our CEO, Carolyn Woods

Hello, TLC families, parents and guardians,

Pre-COVID we conducted annual surveys to gather data to help inform decision-making and formulate goals for all three schools. I am happy to announce the survey is back. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking on the link. Your cooperation is much appreciated!

We hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend and were able to stay cool!  We will be adjusting our PE and Lunch locations to avoid being outside this week as much as possible.

Primary Charter School

Thank you for following our carline safety procedures and bringing your car tag with you! We saw a big increase in this and it helps ensure we get your child to you safely and quickly. Please continue to always bring your carline tag whether you are driving up, walking up, or picking up a walker.

Our Family, Food, Fun night is coming up on Friday and we hope to see you there! This is a great time to meet and mingle with other PCS families. Remember, we are still accepting donations for our silent auction up until Wednesday. Don’t know what to donate? A gift card fits any theme! Thank you!

Special Education

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires public schools to provide special education and related services to eligible students. But not every child who struggles in school qualifies. To be covered, a child’s school performance must be “adversely affected” by a disability in one of the 13 categories.

If you have any questions about this topic feel free to contact the special education department.

IMPORTANT

As required by California law (Health and Safety Code 120325 – 120375), parents need to provide proof of a Tdap vaccine (pertussis – Whooping Cough Booster) for all students entering the 7th grade. Documentation must state the shot was given on or after their 7th birthday. This means ALL current 7th graders must get up to date NOW.

It is important that you begin now, to ensure your child gets his/her required vaccination prior to school re-opening on August 1, 2022. We suggest you call and arrange this vaccine appointment asap.

Getting them up to date now, will not only protect them against Pertussis but also ensure class placement and prevent exclusion from school once students return to campus.

Remember to ask your physician about other vaccines your child may need, and bring your child’s yellow immunization card to the visit. Please return a copy of ALL up-to-date immunizations to school prior to the beginning of the next year school year.

For questions, please call your primary physician today or call the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Program, at (209) 468-3481.

Students will not be allowed to attend campus classes without his/her completing of all school-required vaccines/immunizations.
