News, Information, and Updates for Primary, Discovery, and Millennium Charter Schools

A Message from our CEO, Carolyn Woods

Hello TLC families! If you are new to the Tracy Learning Center schools, welcome! My name is Carolyn Woods, I am the CEO of TLC and have been a part of this amazing organization for over 20 years!!

I was among a small group of teachers who started Primary Charter School in 2004 and worked my way up to my current position with a lot of help and support along the way! I can say the same about my partner, Mr. Saldate, the Assistant Superintendent, who was among the group of teachers who started Millennium High School in 2004! This is a unique working and learning environment and I would not want to be anywhere else!

Thank you to everyone who attended back-to-school night for Millennium and Discovery. It was standing room only both nights! We appreciate your support of your students, our teachers, and the educational programs at the Tracy Learning Center.

COVID Guidelines for the 2024-25 school year: This guidance is intended to support safe, in-person learning and care by mitigating the spread of communicable diseases in childcare settings and TK–12 schools. The following strategies form a general prevention framework to reduce the spread of infections, including but not limited to, COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and norovirus:

This guidance is intended to support decision-making for situations when an individual child has symptoms of illness in childcare or school settings. There is a very helpful chart under Table 2: Guidance for Common Signs and Symptoms that provides guidance on when to keep a sick child home:

  • Are you interested in exploring the world of work?
  • Do you wonder what it takes to be successful in a job?
  • Would you like to get some work experience?
  • Are you curious about options for school after you graduate?
  • Do you want your services to start right away?

If you answered yes, DOR Student Services could be right for you!

What are DOR Student Services?

DOR Student Services are activities that support you in exploring and preparing for the world of work. Services are based on your interests – you could try a bunch of activities, or just a few.

DOR Student Services include all of the activities listed on the Explore Your Options and Get Ready to Work pages. They’re also a fast track to services, so you can get started right away.

IMPORTANT

As required by California law (Health and Safety Code 120325 – 120375), parents need to provide proof of a Tdap vaccine (pertussis – Whooping Cough Booster) for all students entering the 7th grade.  Documentation must state the shot was given on or after their 7th birthday. This means ALL current 7th graders must get up to date NOW

You must begin now, to ensure your child gets his/her required vaccination before school re-opening on August 7, 2023. We suggest you call and arrange this vaccine appointment ASAP.

Getting them up to date now, will not only protect them against Pertussis but also ensure class placement and prevent exclusion from school once students return to campus.

Remember to ask your physician about other vaccines your child may need, and bring your child’s yellow immunization card to the visit. Please return a copy of ALL up-to-date immunizations to school prior to the beginning of the next year school year.

For questions, please call your primary physician today or call the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Program, at (209) 468-3481.

Students will not be allowed to attend campus classes without his/her completion of all school-required vaccines/immunizations.
