The graduation of the class of 2017 was wonderful.  The speakers were amazing and the band was perfect. The audience was respectful and no one would have asked for more!  The special part of the ceremony was noticing that for the first time we had NINE students who began in our first Kindergarten class who stayed with us for the full 13 years.  The original Kindergarten, taught by Mrs. Woods, had 20 students.  I remember it well.  We started out thinking Kindergarten needed a shorter day and within the first month changed our minds since they were eager and we had so much we wanted to teach them.

Meanwhile, before graduation, our move of the high school to our alternate location went off without much trouble.  The students and staff helped Mr. Hepner with the move and we were done in two days.  The FASTTRACK began on Monday and is going very well.  Thanks for the parents who are dropping off students at MHS site.  You are doing well with the drop off and pick up rules.  The students and staff are enjoying the new site.

Our first annual DHSP-CJSF Relay For Life team event was a HUGE success! Last Saturday, we had 30 students from DHSP and Millennium HS come out to support the “Discovery—CJSF” Relay For Life team. What an AMAZING turn out, despite temperatures reaching into the mid-90s!!! Whew, it was hot! From 9am until 10pm students walked laps, volunteered where needed, supported other teams and their booths to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, took part in the many fun activities offered (like the dunk tank!), and collected a total of $118 in donations. Next year the students have even bigger ideas planed for participating, so stayed tuned and make sure to join the next time!

Report Cards

Spring semester report cards were mailed out this week.  If you did not receive one for your student, please contact the office to verify your mailing address.  Grades are also available on Aeries.

Fast Track

The regular year has come to an end and Fast Track began Monday, May 22nd and will run until Friday, June 23rd. We will continue to begin each morning with Unity at 8:15am with classes ending at 12:30pm.

Just a friendly reminder that daily on time attendance is crucial during Fast Track.

Four tardies is equal to one full day of absence.  Any combination of tardies and/or absences of more than 2 days will result in an automatic failing grade regardless of the reason.  We appreciate your support in promoting the importance of attendance and punctuality with your child.

Fast Track is also a great time for students to complete community service hours or to make up any SWOs. The deadline to turn hours in for the 2016-2017 school year is the last day of Fast Track, Friday, June 23rd.  Any hours volunteered after Fast Track will need to be turned in when the regular school year resumes.

Fall College Early Start

Current juniors who are required to take a class at Delta in the Fall have been informed of our College Early Start Form deadline, which is Thursday, June 15th.  Information about the College Early Start program is available on the Counseling Office website, and all needed paperwork is now available in the Counseling Office.  For those who will be taking their first college class in the fall, an informational meeting was held on Friday after the end of Fast Track.
